Of Note @ Crypsis …
The Crypsis Group has opened a new office in Austin, Texas. It will be staffed by Crypsis cyber security experts and serve clients in the region who have a need for the company’s data breach incident response, cyber risk management, and digital investigations and forensics services. This brings to five the number of locations where Crypsis has operations to serve its growing list of clients. Other locations include Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and the company’s Washington, DC area headquarters.
Another indication of Crypsis’ growth is the appointment of a new Vice President. She is Jessica Smith, a veteran practitioner of digital forensics with an extensive record of involvement in complex civil and criminal cases. Jessica brings her experience and know-how to The Crypsis Group’s client engagements as well as helping direct the daily operations of the firm, focusing on professional service projects that allow Crypsis to continue to scale. She previously was Managing Director of Digital Forensics in Stroz Friedberg’s Washington, DC office, where she was responsible for co-managing the firm’s technical operations in the areas of computer forensics, cybercrime response, and incident handling. Over the course of her career, she has provided expert testimony and performed forensic analysis of digital media in many challenging and high-profile cases.
Brendan Rooney has also joined the team as Director of Business Development. He comes to Crypsis from the insurance brokerage and consulting firm Armfield, Harrison & Thomas, Inc. in Washington, where he was Assistant VP and Cyber Practice Leader and led placement of complex network security and privacy liability programs for healthcare entities, advanced manufacturers and technology companies. Previously he worked for two Chicago insurance companies, Ironshore Insurance Services and R-T Specialty LLC.
And, finally, we are pleased to announce we’ve been nominated for two Advisen Cyber Risk Awards. The categories are Cyber Risk Event Response Team of the Year and Cyber Service Vendor of the Year. Don’t forget to cast your vote by April 20!
