Michael Thoma has deep experience in information technology, risk management, and compliance across a range of industries. His skills include incident response planning, risk assessments, and cultivating a culture of security awareness within an organization. He joined the Crypsis consulting team in 2019 from FTD Companies, the floral industry leader, where, as information security manager, he directed the company’s PCI compliance, drove interdepartmental security maturity, and managed IT security matters related to its restructuring and transition to new ownership. Previously, he was a partner and CTO at in Cyber Security, a consulting firm that served clients in the financial services, health, and payment card industries. While there, he helped develop an outsourced proprietary vCISO frameworks for performing full corporate audits and executing security maturity programs based on NIST and regulatory requirements, while also guiding clients through incident response and regulatory audits.
